Meeting New, #1

Last night was the first time I went over to be with Joseph's friends. Joseph works where I do. He invited me to join this group that plays pencil-and-paper imagination games like Dungeons & Dragons (aka D&D or DnD) and Scion and other group RPG games that you meet in person and play.

DnD changes sometimes slightly, sometimes more drastically, with each Edition. So, like the most recent one Edition 4 is more streamlined and more like what you'd see today on an online game and stuff. This group started out playing 3.5 Edition then changed mid-story to 4th Edition.

After work I drove there, I had to kind of "loop around" a couple times as I "sniffed out" the directions I was given, but I eventually found it. Oh and it was raining the whole time completely clouded over the whole time, no break in the clouds in bland gray ceiling in sight. And there was a wreck stopping up traffic when I was on the highway getting there (highway ... ha! It was one lane each way /\|\/ where this wreck happened. But I am OK.
They were already playing, in fact in a final boss battle! So, that took awhile, and it took awhile for me to create my character. We played a little bit before we stopped.
There were 6 couples playing and the DM and me. The TV was on in the background, there was a cute ikle baby and one of the ladies was very preggers and there was even a parental unit there! :p

If you have any questions or whatever, just let me know :)
They were different, and I was entering an established group, but I think I did well!

You know, as my friend Jozie said, "comparison is useless." I can't be compared with some kind of "average" or "normal" or expected set of behaviors and reactions. I am who I am.
two things on that:
1) I shouldn't have to be something I'm not to please others or be drowned in worrying about what others think of me
2) I should be careful about comparing MYSELF to my past and future
